EXPANDED PREMIUM PROCESSING

Recent changes in regulations will allow immigrants to request expedite adjudication for certain applications by paying a premium processing fee to USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service).

Today, DHS (Department of Homeland Security) has published new rules for premium processing. Accordingly, the expedite service will be implemented during the next ten years. The service will become available in the current USCIS fiscal year (ending Sep 2022) for certain applications such as I-140 EB-1 multinational manager, I-140 EB-2 National Interest Waiver, I-539 Change of Status to F1/F2, J and M and I-765 for employment authorization for F-1 OPT and J exchange visitors. DHS will inform later when they will start accepting requests to expedite these applications. The earliest possible date is May 31, 2022. The exact date will be published as news alert on USCIS website.

Before 2025 it will not be possible to use premium processing to expedite employment and travel authorizations in any case based on employment, VAWA, asylum or marriage.
