Attorney Elsa Afework received her Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated in the top 25% of her class. She is currently a member of the Florida Bar and a member of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Young Lawyers Division. She is Ethiopian American and conversational in Amharic.
While in law school, Ms. Afework studied abroad in Italy with Vanderbilt Law School, ranked as one of the top 20 law schools in the nation. In Italy, she studied European Union Law, International Arbitration, and Comparative Counterterrorism, while completing an internship with an International Corporate firm.
Prior to law school, Ms. Afework graduated with Honors from Florida State University earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with Minors in both Business Administration and Psychology. Ms. Afework has a passion for writing, learning about various cultures, and has traveled internationally. She frequently travels to Ethiopia where she plans to fulfill her charitable passions and aid to bring innovative change in economic and social platforms to enable growth and sustenance for local communities.
