Amanda Alves was born and raised in Madeira Island, Portugal. She graduated with her Law Degree from the University of Coimbra (which was the first university in Portugal, founded in 1290) and obtained her license to practice law from the Portuguese Bar Association in 2019.

That same year, Amanda started her career as a Lawyer with a German-based company, focusing her practice on Maritime Law. Her interest in Immigration law may be due in part to having family in Brazil, Venezuela, and now the United States.  She found it incredibly interesting how many Immigrants start a new life in a new country to better themselves, their careers, their education, etc. She realized that helping others achieve these goals would be very fulfilling as a professional.  Being able to make a real difference in the lives of others is an honor.

Amanda is fluent in Portuguese and English, with elementary proficiency in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, going to the cinema, and learning movie trivia.  She also plays Badminton and has just started learning to code as well.
